Poem - The Easy Path

The easy path

I believe in God.
I know that I have disappointed him.
I know that I should do better but I don’t.
I know that what I do is wrong.
I know that I can ask for forgiveness,
But I don’t because I feel that I don’t deserve it.
I know that my every waking thought is
About him watching me and not liking what I am doing.
I know that he wants to love me but
I don’t want to let him.
I know that he is unhappy with me believing in him
But not respecting him or honouring him.
I know that the path to him is hard but I am weak
So I have chosen the easy path.
Yes, I believe in God.
I believe in God so strongly that I know that I
Have reserved my place in Hell.
